Virtual Lab: Leadership & Half Truths
Leadership & Half Truths
Trust between leaders and their teams is the cornerstone of a collaborative culture, in which commitment, accountability, and innovation flourish. Much of what is discussed at the senior level requires confidentiality to allow for adequate research and planning—despite the fact that results may directly and/or indirectly affect employees. Budget cuts, layoffs, promotions, and even personal challenges experienced by individual team members can disrupt team equilibrium.
When is it appropriate to mislead the team through omission or outright deception?
How can leaders effectively recover from a perceived breach of trust?
What can leaders do to push past their own stress and anxiety around balancing the competing responsibilities of preserving trust, carrying secrets, and maintaining poise?
In this lab, you will learn:
- How to identify practical strategies for sustaining healthy team culture
- The importance of emotional intelligence and its applications in building trust
- How to explore pragmatic approaches to conflict management
- How to increase your self-confidence and ability to perform proactively
